Target Admin takes off

I’m pleased and excited to announce that after a stuttering start Target Admin, my new business offering Virtual Assistant services, is now well and truly up and running.

I admit it’s taken longer than expected to set up Target Admin due to unforeseen circumstances. This new project was at the embryo stage at the end of 2019 and I was looking forward to a launch in January. I remember working with my Dad on the logo and strapline (he had a career in Advertising back in the day) and tapping into his expertise on presentation was a joy. We worked together too on my first little ad for my local neighbourhood magazine (Harting Parish News) and he was thrilled to be back working with the copy and the layout to make it ‘just right’. I am grateful to him for all the help he provided to me.

Wind on a couple of weeks into February and Dad’s health was declining to the point when he decided he needed to move from the family home into a care home near where I live so we could keep an eye on him. This was a mammoth endeavour for a 95 year old who had limited mobility but thanks to his truly determined and positive spirit we got things organised but understandably I put Target Admin on the back-burner.

Barely a month after his move Dad’s health took another nose-dive and this time we realised that the outcome wasn’t going to be good. Lockdown had happened and visits to see him had been stopped due to Covid-19. It was awful and painful not to be able to visit him during his last few weeks of life. My sister and I could only see him during his final hours. (by the way, if you are looking for an excellent Care Home near Petersfield for your loved one, let me know and I will happily share my feedback).

So, since May, I’ve been busy handling the Probate for Dad’s estate. A very useful exercise to experience the whole process first-hand from a user point of view! Now that the Grant has been received and the family home has been sold I am now able to begin nurturing my fledgling business once again.
